Agadir is a lively town on Morocco’s Atlantic coast with wide beaches and warm water, but not all breaks are equal. Anza Beach stands out with its long, sandy stretch and gentle, consistent waves, perfect for beginners and early intermediates.
It’s easy to reach, has nearby cafés, and the relaxed vibe makes learning and practicing a joy. Staying here gives you the best quality surf without the crowds or rougher conditions found elsewhere.
Agadir Beach, on the other hand, is less ideal. The waves are inconsistent and often too small, so I highly recommend using it only as a backup or for a short session. Joufane offers slightly more challenging waves for those with some experience, giving you a chance to try faster sets closer to the rocks.
The beaches are all close, so it’s easy to explore by walking, biking or a quick taxi, but making Anza your base ensures you get the smoothest, most enjoyable surfing experience while still having access to the Agadir surf culture.

Anza Beach is the standout spot here, with the best wave quality, while Agadir Beach is more crowded and less reliable. Mornings often bring light offshore winds, making the waves smooth and fun to ride.
