Playa Guiones is the main reason surfers come to Nosara. It’s a long, exposed sandy beach break with multiple peaks, meaning you can often spread out along the beach rather than sitting on one crowded peak.
The wave works on a wide range of tides. Mid tide is a useful starting point, particularly when you are learning to read the beach. Offshore or lighter morning winds can produce cleaner conditions before the afternoon breeze develops.

Surfing Nosara without a car is easiest when you stay around Playa Guiones. The main beach is only a short walk from much of the accommodation, while bikes make Playa Pelada and the surrounding area easier to reach.
